Caberfeidh Horizons is a
registered charity which strives to benefit the communities in which it is
located.
We have opened The Bookshop because we believe:
· In raising the confidence and self-awareness
in people with learning disabilities in order to improve the quality of life
and future prospects in our community
· In enabling better integration into the local and wider community
and to demonstrate the contribution they, our fellow citizens, make to our
communities
· In breaking down any barriers of mistrust, misunderstanding, stigma
and prejudice
We always try to treat everyone who enters the shop with respect, courtesy
and professionalism.
We welcome and celebrate the diversity of all who enter The Bookshop.
There will be no barriers because of gender,
race, nationality, ability, age or sexual orientation.
We do our best to work in harmony with each other, supporting each other and
creating a pleasant environment for everyone to enjoy.
The Volunteers who support The Bookshop, those who gain experience by
working in the shop, in our dealings, particularly with the school children
and elderly of the area and also the wider and business community, we will
all work towards these aims.
